Palamède martyr de la sophia ? Ambiguïté et faillite du savoir

Abstract : The death of Palamedes, injustly accused by Odysseus, was the subject of a tragedy by each of the Attic Poets. This mythical theme enjoyed a great succes in classical Athens and the contest between Palamedes and Odysseus was a mean to contrast two models of sophia. This paper will study Palamedes' character in the rhetorical and philosophical tradition at a time when sophia - its definition and its command- was at stake. Such a discussion was renewed in the Second Sophistic.
